If you want to go sightseeing you can take a trip to Homer stopping in Ninilchik at the old Russian Church and the Tractor Pull at Deep Creek.

Maybe watch them clam on the beaches of the Cook Inlet or just enjoy the beautiful mountain vistas across the water. Take a water ferry ride over Kachemak Bay to Seldovia or an airplane ride to the Katmai National Park and watch the bears catching salmon.

You could also drive over to Seward and visit the fascinating Alaska Sea Life Center or take a boat tour of the glaciers and fertile waters of Resurrection Bay and the Kenai Fjords National Park.

You will see all kinds of sea life and birds and maybe even a whale or two. On the way stop by the Russian River Ferry and watch them fish for salmon.

Maybe you prefer to fish or clam! The peninsula has the premier salmon fishing rivers of the world and Cook Inlet is well known for it’s huge Halibut. The beaches of the Cook Inlet have the famous Alaskan razor clams.
